New Year’s Day Hike at North Park
Dick Nugent led the traditional New Year’s Day BSWP/Wissahickon hike at North Park. Skies were clear, temps in the low 30’s with gusty winds. We practiced identifying “winter weeds” along Irwin Road and then moved to the new wetland area on Pierce Mill Rd. to see the progress the beavers are making on their dams.

Trip Report: Preston Park
We had a excellent tour of Preston Park last Saturday. There were about 10 of us plus two guides Dave Heltzell and Tony Stagno. We saw very few ‘wild flowers’, but the Rhododendron, Azalea and Lilacs were lovely. The big surprise was the meadow full of shooting stars we found at the end. Click here to view photos.
